Running Status, whuzthat ?

The running status is a midi data compression system which enables to shorten messages which have their own midi channel (notes, program changes, controllers...). Under running status, as long as the messages keep addressing the same channel, the message part which refers to the midi channel is omitted. Benefit is one byte per message.
In cubase this box is to be ticked off if you use rather old peripherals and you get some hanging notes or odd performances.
